🎉 mnemosyne systems is the biggest single contributor to the Google Summer of Code 2026 PostgreSQL community.
PostgreSQL has been accepted for Google Summer of Code 2026, and we’re thrilled to have five team members selected as contributors — alongside mnemosyne systems committers and team members serving as mentors across the program.
GSoC 2026 begins May 4, with accepted projects spanning pgagroal, pgmoneta and pgexporter — areas where our team contributes day in and day out.
Here’s what our GSoC 2026 contributors will be working on:
→ Ahmed — will work on improving our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for pgmoneta and creating a MCP foundation for the rest of the projects
→ Sara — will work on expanding our Write-Ahead Log (WAL) functionality especially within filtering. She will also work on supporting the upcoming PostgreSQL 19 release
→ Shashidhar — will work on creating a foundation for all of our storage engines such that we can support Open Source technologies and proprietary ones
→ Somye — will work on creating a history engine for our Prometheus platform, and expanding our monitoring web console
→ Trevor — will work on enhancing our security platform when interacting with PostgreSQL and between the projects
Mentoring this cohort are mnemosyne committers and team members — Luca Ferrari, Haoran Zhang, Mohab Yaser, Tejas Tyagi, Bassam Adnan and Jesper Pedersen.
These are very interesting projects, and will help the community with new exciting features. Hope that people will join these projects and help out !
Open source wins when communities invest in the next generation. Welcome aboard Ahmed, Sara, Shashidhar, Somye, and Trevor — we can’t wait to see what you build.
Thanks for your time !
